This prevents tension on the wire ends connected to the pins. The sheath must go under the clip. The wires must be cut to fit to the end of the connector and allow the sheath to be under the flange. When you arrange the wires in the correct sequence, try no to untwist them. This is difficult to do on the plug but is much easier on the jack. When you have the wires in the proper sequence, carefully place the plug in the crimper (it will only fit one way). Make sure the wires are seated into the plug as far as possible.

Slide the body of the BNC plug over the center insulator. The shield wire should go over the base of the BNC connector. Trim the shield wire as necessary and slide the sleeve up the cable and flush to the BNC body (Figure 2-24). Before crimping the sleeve, be sure the center pin reaches to but not beyond the white insulator ring as shown in Figure 2-25. The sleeve has also been crimped. The connection can now be tested.
